Deschutes December

Abstract photographs of Nature.

Watching the clouds roll by is mesmerizing, like watching the campfire, or the ocean waves. Rivers hold a similar magic, and I could watch the dance of waves, reflections of colors, and the shifting shapes of the rocks and plants beneath for hours. I wonder how to describe the qualities of water. The images in this series all tell one little story, one snapshot of time for this particular stream.

It’s a fantastic way to explore Nature!

Deschutes

Deschutes 12/17/2023

The Trout Creek trail along the Deschutes was prime for exploring. Reflected Colors of sky, clouds and grass covered slope interact with grasses on the near bank.

Exploring the Deschutes on an icy December morning

This is an image that I made while standing in the Deschutes River, Across from the Warm Springs reservation. The sunshine was reflecting off the surface bringing the colors of the sky, clouds afar slope. I love that it carries the feeling of motion, sparkly nature of reflections and even the shadows.

Photography is constrained by the literalness of a subject and a snippet of time. to throw off those norms and just be present in the place allows me to play with the feelings that are the river. (needs refining/ editing)
